Learning and creativity soared at Jay Stream recently. Incoming 2nd-8th graders from across the district participated in STEAM Camp, where they tackled hands-on challenges, conducted experiments, and discovered the exciting connections between science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

250+ Students Tune Up at CCSD93 Summer Music Camp

CCSD93 hosted its Summer Music Camp at Stratford Middle School recently, bringing together more than 250 band and orchestra students to sharpen their skills, learn new music and reconnect with friends.

Western Trails 2nd Graders Perform "Hats"

Recently, Western Trails second graders performed the musical "Hats" for their school community and families. Through energetic songs about different headwear, the Wildcats shared a heartwarming message: who you are on the inside matters most. Way to go, Wildcats!

Hands-On Wildlife Science in Kindergarten

Carol Stream School kindergarteners explored animal survival through hands-on rotations featuring furs, x-rays, and skulls on loan from local conservation groups. The interactive science day combined discovery with themed crafts to bring learning to life.

Elsie Johnson 4th graders suited up as surgical teams to "operate" on fractions and decimals. After earning their doctoral credentials, students solved complex math problems to perform simulated skin grafts and organ procedures in this immersive learning experience.

Dive Into Sustainability: Jay Stream Water Immersion Day

Jay Stream 6th graders participated in Water Immersion Day, an interactive in-house field trip led by SCARCE. The event kicked off with a welcome from Mayor Saverino and County Board Member Zay before students rotated through hands-on stations focused on local and global water conservation.

News & Announcements

Key dates for the new school year include new student orientation and student placement/busing notifications on August 12, Meet the Teacher events on August 18, and the first day of school for Grades 1-8 on August 19. Kindergarten will follow a shortened schedule on August 19 and 20 before transitioning to full days on August 21. Preschool Meet the Teacher will be held on August 20, and preschool classes begin on August 24.

Instrumental Music: Enriching Education at CCSD93

Our robust instrumental music program provides students with the opportunity to learn and master a variety of instruments, from strings and woodwinds to brass and percussion.
