Monday Announcements 9th December
A reminder to all Student Senate representatives that there will be a meeting this afternoon. Please plan to meet in the cafeteria at 1:45.
Jayhawks – you will be taking the District Student Satisfaction Survey in advisory after announcements. This is your opportunity to tell us about school during the school year. Teachers, principals, parents and community members do view the results, so please answer honestly.
Construction on the addition to Jay Stream’s STEM lab will be starting Wednesday evening. The addition is will be added on to the east part of the building on the blacktop where 6th graders lineup in the morning. Starting Thursday, this area will no longer be accessible because it’ll be surrounded by temporary fencing. Instead of waiting on the blacktop, please wait along the sidewalk in the main parking lot as well as the sidewalk leading up to the flagpole. It’s an exciting time to be a Jayhawk. Please make sure you are safe with arrival and dismissal. We will communicate the new lineup procedure during lunch and visit classrooms.
Today is the 2nd GBN mentoring day for the 8th graders who are participating in the GBN mentorship program. Please wait on the couches in the main lobby after school until GBN picks you up.
On Friday night, the boys basketball teams competed against crosstown rival Stratford in front of big crowds at Glenbard North. The two schools split the victories with the Jayhawks winning 7th- grade game and Stratford taking 8th-grade game.
Ryan Bledsoe-Taylor led the 7th graders with 26 points. Carter Gayton had 5, Frank Jaszka had 3, and Hussein Anani scored two. The final score was 36-32 improving the Jayhawk’s record to 6 and 1.
In the 8th grade game, Irfan Khan and Antonio Thomas combined for 23 points. Samir Senenat added 8 points. Other contributors on the scoring column were: Ryan Murcia, Jarod Dudlicek, and Hadi Haidari.
The Jayhawks have a 3 game week ahead of them, starting tomorrow at Hadley.
