Dear Heritage Lakes Parents,
Lunch Supervisor Open Position If you’re interested in a wonderful opportunity to work with students during their lunchtime/recess please contact me at Heritage Lakes School @630-588-6200. The hours are 10:45-1:45. If you aren’t able to commit to five days a week and have interest you might consider job sharing this position with someone you know. Starting pay for a lunch supervisor is $13.05 PTA Meeting 1/31/22 Please join us for Heritage Lakes next PTA meeting on Monday, January 31. It will take place in the Husky Den at 6:00 PM. Student-Led Spring Conferences - March 3rd and 17th Mark your calendars for Spring Conferences which will take place on March 3, and March 17. Parents can sign up through PTC Wizard beginning Friday, February 4 at noon. Conferences will take place from 4:00-8:00 (15 minutes for each conference). Staff will have a Dinner Break from 4:45-5:15 so no conferences will take place at that time. COGAT Scores Students in Third Grade COGAT scores will go home with students on Friday, January 28. Students in third grade took the COGAT test this year. The COGAT is a cognitive ability test. It’s not an achievement test but it does provide information about relative strengths and weaknesses of thinking skills for children. COGAT is used as part of the identification process. If your child is being considered for the gifted program you will receive additional information from Heritage Lakes. Please watch for their COGAT score coming home with your child on Friday. Open HouseOpen House will take place on April 21 with two 30 minute sessions. Families whose last name begins with the letter A-L will attend from 6:00-6:30. Families whose last name begins with the letter M-Z will attend from 6:45-7:15. We are also looking at holding a Book Fair this evening (more details to come). Open House is an opportunity for families to visit the classroom and see their child’s work on display. Parents may also view their child's artwork displayed in the hall. We are excited to provide this opportunity and we hope it will be a safe and fun opportunity to see the school. It’s important that we adhere to the current mitigation strategies to keep everyone safe on this night. Please remember to socially distance in the halls and in the classrooms (we have provided two sessions to minimize the number of people in attendance at one time). Please avoid gathering with other families in the halls or in the classroom. Valentine’s Day Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Heritage Lakes classrooms will celebrate Valentine's Day by affording students an opportunity to pass valentines out. If you want your child to participate in passing valentines, please be sure to adhere to the following expectations (please watch for more details in your child's teacher’s newsletter): *If a student is going to pass valentines, they must provide one for each of the students in class. *Students may not pass any edibles. *Please do not send balloons/flowers and/or food to classrooms on Valentine’s Day. Entry and Exiting School The morning and end of the day are busy times of the day for everyone. It’s amazing to think that over 300 people begin and end their day at Heritage Lakes. A couple of things I wanted to highlight to ensure that students arrive and exit safely when dropping your children off for school or picking them up:
