Dear Heritage Lakes Parents,

Middle School Visit  -  Permission Slips

Tuesday, May 24, at 9:00 our 5th grade students will travel by bus to the middle school for a Step-up-Day.  Permission slips will go home with students today, please watch for them in their bookbags.  Students who do not receive signed permission will not be able to attend the visit.

CareFest

CareFest is a countywide service day of projects aimed at serving our community.  Wheaton Bible Church has graciously volunteered to assist District 93 in beautifying the grounds over the last 12 years.   A big “Thank You” to the many volunteers who put mulch around trees and planted flowers at Heritage Lakes on May 14.  We appreciate their willingness to help in making the school grounds beautiful.

End-of Year Picnic

We have a 70% chance of rain for Friday, May 20, which is the date we set for our picnic at Heritage Lakes.  In the event that we have rain, I will send out an email blast to let everyone know that we are canceling.  We are hopeful that the weather will be beautiful and hope you can attend.  The picnic will take place on May 20 from 5:30-7:00.  The DJ will set up on the east side playground and families can set their chairs and/or blankets out in the field.  We hope you will come out and enjoy some music, talk with other Heritage Lakes families, and maybe even dance.  Hotdogs, Gatorade, and pop will be sold at the event and the ice cream truck is going to stop by.

Our PTA is still seeking volunteers for this event.  If you are able to help serve food, please sign up on the link below.

PTA

Thank you to Janella Holshouser, our former PTA President, and Amanda Otte, our former Vice President.  They did an amazing job in supporting Heritage Lakes over the last couple of years. I’m sure they will continue to be actively involved with our PTA as they stepped down from their roles at the PTA meeting on May 16.

Congratulations to the following who were nominated at the meeting on    May 16:

President - Brooke Hall

Vice President - Marcee Parisi

Treasurer - Jenna Wyatt

Secretary - Christine Cudden

I’m told that our PTA has a number of open committees and would appreciate anyone interested in helping out.  I will reach out to families in a future newsletter.

Sincerely,

Mr. Yelaska
