Heritage Lakes

Parent Newsletter

October 22, 2019

Dear Heritage Lakes Parents:

As we approach November we wanted to take a moment to review our expectations for student behavior while riding the bus to and from school.  As you know, the safety and security of your child is our highest priority. We are asking for your assistance with discussing and encouraging the following expectations:

  • Students should remain seated until the bus stops and/or arrives at their designated stop. Upon entering the Heritage Lakes parking lot we have had some challenges with students standing up. Please remind them that they should wait until the bus has come to a complete stop in the parking lot.
  • Students should stay in (1) seat for the duration of the bus ride (no switching).
  • Students should keep their hands and feet to themselves at all times.
  • Electronic devices including but not limited to computers, tablets, and phones should be kept in backpacks or pockets until students exit the bus.
  • Students should pay attention to and follow the directives of the bus driver.
  • Students may not eat or drink while on the bus.

Please do not walk your child through the parking lot.  When parking, please use the crosswalks when bringing your child by car.

The weather is changing quickly and is not very predictable this time of the year. Please make sure that your child comes prepared with a jacket, hat, and gloves.  Students are encouraged to wear their jackets when at recess and when leaving at the end of the day.

Student-led conferences will take place on November 25 and 26 from 12:00-8:00 pm. Please take some time to sign up through PTC Wizard for a conference if you have not already done so.  If you have any challenges with signing up please contact the office at Heritage Lakes (630)588-6200.

Sincerely,

Mr. Bob Yelaska

Principal
