The following information is being sent to inform you of a situation that occurred at Jay Stream Middle School today. It is not intended to alarm you.
At approximately 1:08 p.m., a Yellow Schedule was called to address a medical situation involving a staff member. In a Yellow Schedule, students remain in their classrooms while learning continues and do not enter the hallways. This practice is part of our district-wide Crisis Plan. The intent of a Yellow Schedule is to preserve the integrity and safety of the individual in need as well as the safety of the rest of the students and staff in our building.
A call was placed to 9-1-1, and as a result, an ambulance arrived at Jay Stream at 1:11 p.m. The staff member was safely transported to the hospital in the ambulance.
Students and staff responded appropriately to the Yellow Schedule by following directions. It ended at approximately 1:29 p.m. when the ambulance departed and our regular schedule was resumed.
I thank our students and staff members for their cooperation with today’s Yellow Schedule. Our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of those within our school. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact me at 630-588-5200.
