CCSD93 Introduces Dr. David Hill as New Superintendent
Community Consolidated School District 93 (CCSD93) is pleased to share that Dr. David Hill has taken on the role CCSD93 Superintendent of Schools beginning July 1, 2019.
Dr. Hill has been with CCSD93 since 2011, serving as the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services from 2011 to 2016 and then as Associate Superintendent for the past three years as part of a planned transition into the role of Superintendent. Prior to his work with District 93, Dr. Hill was Director of Finance and Operations for Westchester Public Schools, was a high school teacher, and held leadership positions in the private sector. His doctoral degree is in educational leadership, and he holds additional master’s degrees in business management and secondary education.
“Dr. Hill is a passionate educator who has been integral in the development of CCSD93’s two most recent strategic plans and has worked diligently toward achieving their goals for the benefit of the CCSD93 community,” said CCSD93 Board President Keith Briggs. “His strong leadership qualities are unmistakable. We’re excited for him to lead CCSD93 into the future.”
As CCSD93’s head business official, Dr. Hill’s work received two top financial reporting awards for the district’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for each of his eight fiscal years: the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials and the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. Additionally, Dr. Hill served as President of the Illinois Association of School Business Officials during the 2017-18 school year.
"I am humbled and honored to take on the role of Superintendent of Schools for Community Consolidated School District 93,” said Dr. Hill. “I am proud to work in a community that values high expectations; community engagement; and love, equity and respect for every student. My passion for education in the District 93 community means I am here to support our outstanding staff so we can do amazing things together to serve our students. During my tenure as Superintendent, I will not lose sight of the tremendous responsibility and honor I have been given with our children."
Dr. Hill replaces Dr. Bill Shields, who retired from CCSD93 on June 30, 2019 after 29 years with the district, the past 10 of which were as Superintendent of Schools.
