CCSD93 Schools to Remain Closed Through the End of the 2019-20 School Year

Dear CCSD93 Community,

As you may be aware, the Governor announced today that school closures across the state will continue through the end of the 2019-20 school year. This means CCSD93’s schools will remain closed, and we will continue to offer teacher-led remote learning opportunities during regularly scheduled school days through the end of the school year. Our goal will continue to be to help to provide structure to our students' days and to keep them engaged through unique learning opportunities. We will continue to do our very best to balance student academic needs with social and emotional needs in the best interests of students.

We know this announcement raises questions ranging from “What will happen to end of year events like 8th grade graduation?” to “How students will be able to pick up belongings?” We have been at work preparing for this potential scenario and will continue to work through logistics of ending the school year remotely. In the coming weeks, we will reach out to parents with more information.

We also know this situation is stressful for families. CCSD93’s Student Services Department has developed a list of resources and tips that may be useful in dealing with the stress and anxiety at this time. The resources are linked here, and can be found at www.ccsd93.com/COVID19, where you can also find additional resources like technology help, health, social services, internet, and food resources. CCSD93 will continue to link potentially valuable information to families there as it becomes available.

CCSD93 will still offer grab-and-go food pickup opportunities for all students from 10:30 a.m.-noon at all schools and five additional community locations every weekday until further notice. Visit www.ccsd93.com/meals for more on meal service.

CCSD93 will continue to rely on guidance from the state and health organizations in order to contribute to the health and safety of our students, staff, families, and community.

Thank you,

David H. Hill, Ed.D.
