    Megan Duffy-Legan, Assistant Principal & Athletic Director

    Megan Duffy-Legan has been in education since 2015. Before becoming an administrator, Mrs. Legan was a middle school band director for eight years in Darien. She has always enjoyed working with large groups of people, which inspired her to move from directing large bands to serving and helping lead a school. The 2024-2025 school year is Mrs. Legan's second year as an assistant principal at Jay Stream Middle School.

    Mrs. Legan holds her Bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received her Masters in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University. 

    Mrs. Legan resides in Wheaton with her husband, two-year-old daughter and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family, and doing anything active outdoors.

    Mrs. Legan is passionate about ensuring all students feel they have a place at school so they can reach their full potential. In addition to being an assistant principal, Mrs. Legan serves as the athletic director and loves seeing students discover their talents inside and outside of the classroom. She values building strong relationships with students, families, and staff and is excited about her second year serving the Jayhawk community.

    Stacey Knighton, Assistant Principal & Student Services Team Chair

    Stacey Knighton has been in education since 2012. Before becoming an administrator, she was a classroom teacher for three years in Mahomet, IL, and seven years in Glendale Heights, IL. She has taught 7th-grade mathematics and 6th-grade science throughout her career.  

    Ms. Knighton holds a Master of Arts degree from Concordia University Chicago, where she participated in the Principal Preparation Program. Her undergraduate studies at Illinois State University included endorsements in mathematics, science, and social studies instruction. Ms. Knighton’s teaching certificate is specific to middle school students. She enjoys working with this age group and helping them discover who they are and what they want to become in their young adolescent years. 

    Ms. Knighton serves as one of Jay Streams assistant principals and is the Student Services Team Chair. 

    On a more personal note, Ms. Knighton enjoys spending time with her large family, going on outdoor adventures (camping, fishing, kayaking), and traveling whenever possible.
