Brett Kueker has been in education since 2006. He was an art teacher in School District 308 for eight years before becoming an assistant principal at Wolf's Crossing Elementary in 2014. He then served as an assistant principal at Yorkville Intermediate School for two years and principal at Bristol Grade School for four years in Yorkville 115 before becoming principal of Western Trails in 2022.

Brett has her Bachelor's degree from University of Iowa and a Masters in Education Leadership from the Concordia University

Brett resides in North Aurora and enjoys rock climbing, running and spending time with his family.

Since becoming a principal, Brett has worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. He understands that education is not a one-size-fits-all approach and is dedicated to providing opportunities that meet the needs of each student. With his experience and passion for education, Brett Kueker is excited to continue working with the Western Trails community to help students maximize their potential. 

Katie Harper has been in education since 2009, where she began her career in CCSD93. Previously to becoming an assistant principal, Katie taught kindergarten, second grade, third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, worked as a reading interventionist, and was an elementary instructional coach. She has served as the Western Trails assistant principal since 2022.

Katie received her Bachelor's degree and Masters degree in Educational Leadership from North Central College in Naperville. She resides in Carol Stream with her husband, four children, and dog. She enjoys traveling, sports, spending time with her family, and all things Disney.

Katie is passionate about creating welcoming and inclusive environments for students. She believes that positive relationships and a growth mindset are the keys to unlocking every child's potential and can make all the difference in a child's success. Katie values the relationships she has built with students, families, and staff at Western Trails and is excited for another incredible year as a Wildcat!
