    Phyllis Taborn, Principal

    Phyllis Taborn began her tenure as Stratford Middle School Principal in 2023.  Prior to that, she thrived as a middle school assistant principal for four years. Before taking on administrative roles, Ms. Taborn was a 7th grade English language arts teacher for 10 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Chicago State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Capella University.

    Principal Taborn is committed to building a school culture centered on core values, focused on student and staff growth and improvement,  devoted to partnering effectively with parents and students, and passionate about serving the entire school community.

    Kelli Klein, Assistant Principal

    Kelli Klein started her tenure as Assistant Principal of Stratford Middle School in 2019. Prior to moving into Administration, she taught 6th and 7th grade Math for 11 years. She attended Western Illinois University where she studied elementary education, receiving endorsements in all content areas.

    She attended Concordia University Chicago where she earned two master's degrees; one in curriculum and instruction and the other in principal preparation.

    She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and listening to podcasts.

    Stacie Klein, Assistant Principal

    Stacie Klein attended the University of Iowa for her undergraduate degree and Aurora University for her master's in teaching. She has been working in education for more than two decades and prides herself on building relationships and making a positive impact on students.

    Prior to becoming an administrator, she taught math at the middle school level and loved being in the classroom. It was a highlight for her each day to watch students persevere through difficult work to find the answer. As an administrator, she appreciates the ability to work with students and teachers on a broader level.

    She is passionate about supporting students, teachers, and families to work together to ensure that students grow.
