Korrie McCarry, Principal
Korrie McCarry has been in education since 1992. She was a special education and primary classroom teacher in Chicago Public Schools and Schaumburg School District for 16 years before becoming an assistant principal in Schaumburg in 2009. She served as principal at Cloverdale School in CCSD93 from 2013-2023. Korrie is excited to lead the Elsie Johnson community as principal.
Korrie has her Bachelor's degree from National Louis University, her Masters in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her second Masters in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.
Korrie resides in Glen Ellyn with her husband, two children and her dog. She enjoys reading and spending time at the Morton Arboretum.
Korrie believes all students will learn at high levels. She is committed to working with families, staff and the community to support success for all students. She values positive relationships with staff, students, and parents and is looking forward to a wonderful year at Elsie Johnson.
Sara Kemp, Assistant Principal
Sara Kemp has been in education since 2015, where she began her career in CCSD93. She was a special education teacher for five years before becoming an Inclusion Facilitator. She has served as the Elsie Johnson assistant principal since 2022.
Sara holds her Bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received both her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and Masters in Educational Leadership from North Central College.
Sara resides in Wheaton with her dog, Palmer. She enjoys running, traveling (working on country #21), and tackling DIY home-improvement projects.
Sara is passionate about advocating for student’s inclusion and success within their learning. She values building strong relationships with students, families, and staff and is excited for another great year as a Jaguar.
