WHAT IS THE MENTOR PROGRAM?
-
District 93 is proud of their Mentor Program to assist children who may be having challenges with academics, social relationships, behavior, or organization skills. This program is designed to have a member from our district staff or a community member mentor a student who has been referred to the Mentor Program by a District 93 staff member. Students are mentored once a week during their lunch/recess. Each mentor has participated in a background screening process provided by the Carol Stream Police Department as well as training by the District PreventionCoordinator . A site coordinator is available to parents and mentors at each school to answer any questions. The Site Coordinator also acts as the parent's liaison to the classroom teacher and mentor.
