CCSD93 New World Language Options 2017-18

  • World Languages Info Night

In addition to the already-established foreign languages offerings of Spanish and French, CCSD93's 7th and 8th grade students now also get to choose from Mandarin Chinese and Italian.

As part of the new foreign language offerings, 6th graders have opportunities to learn a bit of each of the four languages and their cultures during their related arts rotations, before choosing which to begin studying in depth in 7th grade and beyond. Watch this video to find out more about CCSD93's foreign language offerings and to get a look into their classrooms!

Find out even more by attending the World Languages Info Night at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 31 at CCSD93's District Office. Mandarin Chinese and Italian have been added to the previously-offered French and Spanish. By attending, you’ll find out more about the foreign language learning opportunities at CCSD93's middle schools. With CCSD93's unique program, students get a chance to try out all four in 6th grade before committing to which language they'll study in 7th grade and beyond.

By attending the meeting, you'll find out:

    • Why CCSD93 chose to add Mandarin Chinese and Italian to its foreign language offerings.

    • How each of these languages is valuable to learn today.

    • The benefits to learning foreign languages in general.

    • Answers to your specific questions.

If you can't make it in person, you can live-stream the World Languages Info Night at www.ccsd93.com and email questions to reply@ccsd93.com or tweet them using the hashtag #D93WorldLanguages! While the event is for everyone, parents of children who are currently in 4th-7th grade may be particularly interested!
